The duration of the course depends on the native language, linguistic ability and various other factors.
Under International Civil Authority Organization (ICAO) regulations, all Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) worldwide, have to demonstrate their Aviation English proficiency to avoid mishaps and other difficulties faced by them in day to day functioning during flight hours.
The latest guidelines have made it mandatory to all International flights to meet the requirement.
The minimum acceptable level (Operational level) will be considered as Level 4 out of Level 6. The assessment will be based on six proficiency requirements – Pronunciation, Structure, Vocabulary, Fluency, Comprehension, Interaction.
